How funny is it that many of us are returning back to Acronyms. I grew up in a Acronym society, Acronyms in sunday school, Acronyms in elementary school and Acronyms on the football field. I got so sick of the reduction of everything done to Acronyms that I stopped using them or talking about them. Then I meet Tracy... the queen of Acronyms. Wow, what an awesome time we had at the block party. About 100 folks gathered to have fun in the sun and throw down the snow cones like it was 1999. This corner was madness between the jumper and the snow cone and about 30 kids (strung out on snow cones) running around and around…

This last month or so has been war. War in our house, war in our community and war in our church. God's grace comes in different shapes and sizes... sometimes in words, deeds or things. I have been thinking back to when we first moved to Boise and I prayed that God would give us a house. 33lbs of ribs, 20 ears of corn, 53 people, 9 hrs of work.... memorial day party....priceless.
We had a blast the other day having a party and having our friends and neighbors over to celebrate with us. This was the biggest house party to date and it was in some ways the easiest as each person brought a side dish or a dessert. We met new folks and got to connect all the families with the neighborhood and the peeps from the TM community.

God is doing a lot with the TM community. Not as fast as I would like at times but it is healthy! I am learning more and more how important the foundation is. We thought that when we started last fall with 3 families that we started with a core but it is easy now to see that we started in obedience and that God was going to build the core. Here is what is going on round our house
We found out that if we get someone to rent our house that we are in now that we don't have to pay to get out of the lease...this would save us $3000! Pray for us as we are now showing it and trying to get someone in here when we move out.
The closing date might have to be moved back until June 1st or June 15th because it is taking forever to get the FHA loan to go through. Pray for this to go fast so that our contract doesn't have to be broken. This cou…

Exciting! They accepted our CO and we will close on the house at the end of May!
God has shown us Grace upon Grace in the fact that He not only provided a house that we can afford but it's on our street! We can continue the mission on the block and continue to invest in those around us!
The house is a bit dirty, nothing a good clean won't fix! It is very livable but we look forward to doing some remodeling work parties over the next few years as money and help allows.

God's grace is in the air and we are realizing more and more our need for Him in our lives.
When we moved to Boise we did not qualify to buy a house and felt like God wanted us to pursue the call of the Gospel over the call of the american dream. We had an awesome easter celebration in the park! About 60 peeps came out for the service and another 50 or so to eat and for the egg hunt. The whole day was a big celebration as we gathered in a circle and sang, preached and took communion family style. We brought our refugee family to the celebration and even sang some songs in swahili! The kids were singing and running around and it was a fun celebration in the park. Today is good friday, how will we remember Jesus today? In History past it has been a day to remember the suffering and cruel death that Jesus died for us. I just finished writing a letter of intent to a local preacher here in Boise. His church building is for sale and I asked Him to pray about a few options... "gift", "lease" ($1 per year for 2 years, then a buy out option of $200,000) "rent" ($250/month for 1 year).

Low times and high times are all a part of life and in some ways just get more magnified in church planting. It took me a few days to get back in the swing of things in Boise but the light is back in my eyes and I am excited about what is next.

Well we made it back to Boise safe...yet we are kinda bored. You see while we were back east we were in "go"mode. Not that Boise is boring but it is spring break now and most of the town is on vacation. There is tons to be done but yet I am in a funk.
I guess it's perfect time for spring cleaning!
Green is working this week and I have the boys to myself for 3-4 hours a day. So far I have tried to work in the morning and play with them while she is at work. All in all I should take this slow week…

I will make this long story short...
I got an email about a church building for sale in the north end in Boise. (there are only 2 Church buildings in the north end and only 6 in downtown). The building is in the "target" area and is only 6 blocks from the building we now rent on sunday nights.

It's funny how the mess of life comes out when you are under stress. We are trying to get ready to leave to go back east and at times I feel that our family is falling a part. Now that is a BIG overstatement! But you know how it feels sometimes? I just had a meeting with a guy that is excited about helping us take Boiselife.org to the next level for our 2.0 version. I have shared our vision with a few web designers and no one has caught the vision yet. But this guy gets it and I am excited about how he wants to help us and do most of the work as a donation to the community. This alone could save Boiselife a few thousand dollars this year!

We are thanking God for His favor this winter and providing in so many ways!
* we went from being $2000 short in support each month to almost fully supported for 2009!
Praise God and thank you to those who give and pray!
* we sold our suburban and got a small truck that has an extended cab for the boys, 4x4 and is good on gas.
* Boiselife merged with LEAP charities and now we are a non profit and can apply for grants.
